Unexplained computer lag
Yesterday, my wireless mouse was not working correctly and determined it was computer lag causing it. I left it alone for a while and came back and everything was working fine. Don't know what was causing the lag as I was only on the internet and using simple Excel. I ran a webroot scan and nothing turned up. Should I be concerned?

No, I changed the battery with no impact. It was definitely computer lag causing it to not operate correctly. After I left it go for about 10 minutes, it was fine, and has been fine since. So I thought of malware.

Welcome to the Community Forums.
I would not be overly concerned especailly if WSA has been used to scan the system and nothing has been found. It can be that when the issue occurred some background process was running that was comsuming memory, etc., and thus cause the lag.
Next time this happens open up the Task Manager (right click task bar and select it) and make a note of the top 2 or 3 processes running (under the Processes tab). And if concerned post those here so that we can take a look and advise accordingly.

Okay, thank you. I did try Contol - alt delete, but that did not register due to the lag. I will right click on tack bar next time.

Have you shut down the computer for about 5 minutes then restart? Sometimes, that is all that is needed.

No worries...jus let us know what you find. Also, have you installed an new software or uppdated any existing apps recently or around the same time that you have started seeing the lag?
Plus, have you checked ttheee usualmareas in WSA to see if by any chance an application is being 'monitoreed' by WSA...that can cause a llag in the application given that WSA Would be journalling all its activities...just a thought?

I did not have to shut it down. I just left it alone for about 10 minutes, and that whatever was causing the problem ceased. You have alleviated my main concern that some type of malware or virus got through webroot and caused the problem.
