Uninstall Vs. Permanent Erase with Webroot

I installed Inquist4 Web Player on my ASUS laptop. When it froze on my computer, I decided to uninstall it but got this message when I tried: "Could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurentVersion/Installer/Folders. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel."  I see an option in my Windows menu when I right click on the folder to "permanent erase with Webroot." Is that the same as uninstalling the program?

Hello kfinn4,

Welcome to the Webroot Community Forum,

No Permanently erase with Webroot is not an uninstall program. Please do not use this for uninstalling programs.

Please have a look here: http://www.webroot.com/En_US/SecureAnywhere/PC/WSA_PC_Help.htm#C9_SystemOptimizer/CH9g_UsingSecureErase

Please use the Add Remove in the Windows Control planel to uninstall programs properly.

Hope this helps and if not please get back to us.

Kind Regards,

Baldrick

Hi kfinn4

Welcome to the Community Forums.

If I may add to what Sherry has advised...if you check out this web page the developer of the software have provided uninstall instyructions for Web Player.

Not sure if you have seen or tried to use them but if not then this may be of some assistance.

Regards, Baldrick
