Uninstalling WebRoot

I think I've had kind of a ridiculous experience trying to uninstall webroot. I've tried running the command "WRSA.exe -uninstall" in the proper file heirarchy. Tried selecting deactivate webroot in the taskbar icon everytime i turn on my computer. Add Remove programs doesn't work.. I tried to log in and deactivate my computer on the site as per on online suggestion, but it sends me to a geek squad site, to get me to buy a new subscription. How about an Uninstall Feature???? 😕

Hello Frustrated1, welcome to the Webroot Community,

First of all, i am sorry that you are having this problem.  99.9% of the time, WSA does correctly set itself within the Control Panel, Programs and Features, just like any other software, for easy removal.  There is no attempt at anythign inethical going on.  (I am NOT a Webroot employee, a Best Buy employee.  I am not an employee or pain in any way at all to participate on this site.. I do so as I enjoy helping others and I am a Webroot user myself).

Please forgive me if I suggest anything you have already tried, but lets cover all the bases we can.

1) The account site to deactivate.  Is THIS the site you tried to use?  The login for this site works regardless if if your existing key code is not yet activated, activated and in use, or activated and now expired.  If you attempt to regisiter an account with a key code that has already BEEN activated on the site, it will direct you elsewhere.

If you have forgotten your password or Security Code, please see THIS KB ARTICLE about recovering those.

2 Have you read this KB Article about the command line functions to uninstall?  Be very careful to enter the text EXACT, and do NOT copy and paste.  The last time I tried to copy and paste it, it did NOT work due to issues with Unicode (or something like that).

I hope this helps, let us know!
