Virtual Keyboards and spyware
I would like to ask if spyware can record passwords when a virtual keyboard is used (like for instance the on screen keyboard in windows 7). I know that Webroot takes care of this problem in a different way, but I would like to know the answer for my other computers (at work). If on screen keyboards are safe, what is the difference between the "on screen" keyboard of a tablet and a PC "on screen" keyboard pressed by a mouse ? Shouldn't tablets also be safe from keyloggers, since they don't use physical keys?

You might want to Google this for there is alot of information concerning Virtual Keyboards.But then again Webroot protects you from keyloggers.

In theory, virtual keyboards are safer as they do indeed remove the physical clicking of the keyboard. Being the computers at work, my best suggestion would be to contact the IT at your workplace. Chances are extremely high that there is a business or enterprise AV solution there running in a hidden manner that you cannot see.
Thank you for your replies. I was asking this question because someone stole my credit card data. Luckily he didn't do much damage, since it was the end of the month and there was not much money left on the card. I know that on my office laptop (that I use also at home) there is an AV, but no AV is able to guarantee 100% protection. I'm 99% sure that I didn't enter this credit card data manually, so i was wondering if a virtual keyboard would be 100% secure, when entering for example passwords. I got this idea, because some AV add a virtual keyboard as an additional security feature, when entering passwords. Thank you for your links, I will try to find an answer also on google, I was just thinking that maybe someone in the forum had the answer.

Judging from the Microsoft Forum, it looks like virtual keyboards are of no use against more sophisticated spyware programs.
