I just renewed my subscription for geek squad and now my computer is telling me my webroot is expired.  Do I have to purchase both of these programs seperatly.  I thought webroot was part of the yearly subscription to geek squad tech support.

Hello ?,

When you renewed did you receive a new keycode?

If so, you will need to click on the Gear icon next to My Account, and enter the new keycode.

If not, and you renewed within the last 24 hours you will need to wait.

Best Buy adds the days to the current license within 24 hours of expiry.

I hope this helps!

Hello and welcome to the Community

If as you recall you JUST renewed it, as in this morning, then you will be back to normal tomorrow as long as you renewed both Tech Support and Webroot with Geek Squad..  Best Buy / Geek Squad does NOT do live billing.  All of the billing is actually done in a giant batch once a day, every night.  Your credit card will be billed tonight and so WSA will show active tomorrow morning.

YOU ARE STILL PROTECTED.  Best Buy provides a 30 day grace period for you, so that even though the software reports as expired it is still working and protecting you

If you specifically renewed ONLY Geek Squad Tech Support or you are not sure, then you will need to call them back at 1800-GEEK SQUAD and either that they applied your credit card to both Tech Support and Webroot, or have them go ahead and add your credit card data to the Webroot as well.

Chances are if you paid an amount such as $99.00 (Before tax) you did indeed renew them both, but I would call them to make sure.

(I worked for the Subscriptions Escalations there for 3 years, so I know extremely well how the billing system works... better than most of the agents who answer the phone.)

Note, you will NOT receive a new key code with the renewal.  That is the whole point of renewing.. so that protection goes uninterrupted without the need to do anything, even adding a new key code :)

? and ?, i have sent you both an email with a little information regarding this.  :)
