Hi everyone,

I accessed my console for the first time in a long time as I never saw anything of interest. Well, the password manager was greyed out and it said something like "Call Webroot Support" as the password had problems with the latest install. Not knowing if I bypassed something by retrieving the latest version rather than waiting (who likes to wait?).

Well, I'll be darned but a real, live person came to the phone!  It is not difficult to navigate through the prompts. I can't tell you what a pleasurable experience it was. Never have I contacted any "support" desk without feeling like a complete idiot. This young man answered all of my questions (and even a few that I didn't ask) politely, calmly and efficiently.

I tried the Cloud and realized it was slowing down my PC in downloading (I copied about 300 music CD's along with other stuff and hit 24mg). Then, I thought, I don't need the Cloud. Well, the icon still appears  along with all of my other drives and there is no way to remove it. Ugh. Anyway, he was extremely helpful and didn't hang up until he was sure that all of my issues had been addressed. I wish I could give him kudos. There is a link in the followup email generated for the consumer to take a survey (which I will do later). It is definitely a handy tool for passwords but will require a great deal of thought because most log ins are now directing you to a different page.

I wanted to pass along the Good News to the folks @ Webroot Forum who troubleshoot. It is possible to talk to Webroot technical support with a phone and a little patience.

Many, many thanks. You are the best!!!

Theresa

Because I am a dodo. I have a hard time navigating this website.

I moved the message to a post. I'll figure this out. I'm always in a rush and can't always find the right page. So Sorry. BTW what is Permalink?

Hi Theresa

Yes, it can be confusing...you should just have navigated to the forum for which you have the version or you could just have entered your question in the space under 'Ask a question' on the Community Home page, and when you press continue it takes you into the post editor, then BEFORE you actual enter the body of your post under 'Body' use the dropdown under 'Select a Location' to choose the forum that your post is relevant /related to.

Perhaps ? might be able to move your post to a more pertinent forum...if we ask him nicely?

Regards, Baldrick

a 'permalink' or portmanteau of permanent link..."is a URL that points to a specific web page, often a blog or forum entry which has passed from the front page to the archives, or the result of a search in a database."I don't use them but I am sure that someone who does can enlighten you further.Baldrick

No worries - I moved it out of ideas and into a forum.
