Webroot pad lock Icon question

Hi,

For some reason the 'Pad Lock' doesn't show up anymore on the Icon at the bottom, even when signing on to my bank or credit union.  Haven't done anything to change the Identity Protection, Web Shield, just set back to Default to double check.

Is it the lock on the Webroot Tray Icon? Check here to make sure your Browsers are under protect: http://www.webroot.com/En_US/SecureAnywhere/PC/WSA_PC_Help.htm#C6_IDProtection/CH6c_ManagingProtectedApps.htm and if they are then try a clean reinstall of WSA!

Can you please do a clean reinstall of WSA and Please follow the steps closely!

  • Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings if asked to as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
Please let us know if that resolves your issue?

Thanks,

Daniel ;)

Hi acme,

Welcome to the Webrot Community,

This is usually a cosmetic issue.  Typically the shield itself is actually working fine but the icon is not showing up properly in the system tray.

The padlock icon only appears when the browser is on an https page to protect your identity.  Here is  a Forum Reply with a bit more information on the Padlock.

The User Guide also has some information Here

In the event it turns out to be more than a cosmetic issue in your case, you should open a support ticket here.

Hope this helps,

KInd Regards

Hi,

The 'Pad Lock' came back on after I uninstalled - reinstalled Webroot anti-virus.

Thanks
