Webroot scan completing TOO fast? Jumps past Rootkit.

I've noticed that when I run WSA on my laptop, the "completion bar" jumps suddenly when it hits the "Scanning for rootkits" from roughly 10% finishied to rougly 70% finished. The scan spends virtually no time scanning for rootkits, either. Is this something to be concerned about? Is there any way to test whether something is fooling WSA? Thanks in advane for your input.

Hi Birini

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Just because WSA's scan is fast does not mean that it is ineffective or missing something.  Please see this previous thread for information that will be of use to you in understanding how WSA works/why the scan speeds seem suspiciously fast. This thread may also help.

But also, just to check, that you do have the setting for Rootkit scanning enable please click on the 'Advanced Setting' option in the top righthand corner of the main app panel. The click on 'Scan Settings' from the list on the lefthand side of the next page displayed...and check that the 'Enable Rootkit detection' option is checked. If not then check it, click 'Save' enter the CAPTCHA code required and then try a further scan.

Hope that helps?
