Hello nwyooper,

Welcome to the Webroot Community,

Please look here at this Thread by ?  and here  And look Here  (But I can tell you what Webroot does)..

WSA doesn't require definition updates as it's Cloud Based and always up to date see this video to learn more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqvVTE8-fA4

Please have alook at this KB article on What Happens if Webroot Missies a Virus

Hi nwyooper

Welcome to the Community Forums.

If I may just add, in response to your basic question "What is the difference between Webroot and McAfee", they basically do the same thing...aim to protect your system from malware. Where they differ in the way they do  this, what impatc they have on your system and finally how well they actually do the job.

As you will have no doubt gathered...we here believe that WSA does it all better than McAfee, for the reasons provided in the threads/previous posts that Sherry has provided.

But those are the basic differences...McAfee does the job...but WSA does it oh so much better. ;)

Regards, Baldrick
