when I scan my computer it lists active threats. what exactly does that mean
when I scan my computer I lists "acrive threats" what exactly does that mean? what do I do?

As a first step to resolving this for you would you please go HERE, take a look at the information and go to the same place as described in the article, click on Reset Protection Statistics and then do a scan. It should clear as a result of this action, since it is just showing the total of threat/malware, etc. that WSA removed since you installed WSA.

If I may add to what Sherry has advised...what you are describing is quite normal and in fact there is no need to reset your statistics very often...I in fact have not reset them since I last reinstalled WSA...and they are a useful guide to what has happened previously.
You will know, without reference to the statistics, if any threats have been detected as WSA will change colour and you will be given instructions on how to proceed.
Now if it is clearer for you to carry out a reset there is nothing wrong with doing that... but in my personal opinion reseting is not ecessarily required.
