Why did I lose my Explorer program and how can I get it back?

To add to what Sherry said,  do please be careful to NO do a 'factory reset'.  You do not want to lose your files.  Just use a recent restore point on a date which the computer was acting normally.

May I ask as to which version of Windows you are running, as depending on that you may be ableto avail yourself of the following Microsoft KB article on the subject. That would be my starting point in relation to this particular issue.
