When I tried to install Trend Micro Antivirus+Security 10 program there was a drop down windoe that stated I had to remove incompatable software "Web Root Secure Anywhere".
Do I have to do this?

Here is a quick set of directions for you 🙂 Remember to keep your internet active throughout installing BOTH, it is required.
- Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
- KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
- Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
- Uninstall WSA and Reboot
- Follow the install directions for your Trend Micro. Do no continue on this list until you have completed all steps for that install. :)
- Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings if asked to as you can set it up as you like once it's done
- Let it finish it's install scan
- Reboot once again

Remember that while Webroot is compatible with almost all other AV's, the installers of the other AV do not know this. Why would they? The other AV companies have no interested in programming the installer other than to simply recognize if any other AV is on the computer to give the warning.
I always suggest that if one wants a multiple solution approach (though this is not needed in my own opinoin) that one install the OTHER AV first, and then install WSA. That avoids the OTHER AV from complaining needlessly during install.
I do not know the compatibility of WSA and the current version of Trend, however in the past they have always gotten along quite well together.

Yes you can have multiple AVs with Webroot, though there is no need too.
Webroot is completely compatible with Trend, though Trend may not be designed to be compatible with Webroot.
Webroot is much lighter and should have no effect on the speed of your PC, while trend can and likely will slow it down.

Just to add to what James has posted, if I may...if Trend Micro has the option to log exception or exclusions to its scanning, etc. then one option to try to make sure that Trend does not object to WSA is to log/register the key components of WSA therein. This is something that I used to do when I ran KIS in tandem with WSA.
But eventually I was persuaded that WSA would do the job on its own just fine and I dropped the use of KIS. ;)
