why is my computer is running really slow all of the sudden
I am new here and dont know what "Board" to pick. Dont even know if I'm in the right area, but it says "Ask your question" so here goes: I downloaded Google Chrome because Internet Explorer was way too slow for me. This help immensly, but 3 days ago after I was asked to allow cookies to submit a document I needed to submit to Chrysler about my car, it started back running super slow again. Believe me it's reaaalllyy slow again...I tried uninstalling Google Chrome and reinstalling it hoping to change that setting to allow the cookie(s), as I was unable for the life of me able to find it anywhere again, but that didn't work. I've cleaned my cache/cookies, etc. and Webroot, my anti-virus, says there are no viruses??? HELP! I was so excited that my computer finally ran at an acceptable speed to allow me to actually do stuff without waiting 2 minutes each time I performed a new task, literally, taking me 10 minutes to do a 2-3 minute task. What can I do?

What you are seeing and describing is what we on the Community refer to as a PUA. (Potentially Unwanted Application)These are very annoying at best in that they cause pop-us, redirect your browser home page, and other behavior that may slow down the computer and direct ads your way, but they are not actually doing anything bad like damaging files or stealing information. Often they are installed intentionally by you the user as browser add-ons for various tasks such as quick search tools.. but they also come with the result of added annoying pop-ups and ads. Other times they 'piggy back' with other software that you installed, or try to 'sneak' onto your system entirely.
WSA does detect and remove many PUA's, and more are being added, but WSA does not detect all of them. A simple browser add-on with PUA behavior that is easy to identify and easy to remove is not likely to be detected and removed by WSA. Those that are intentionally difficult to locate and remove are. Please see THIS LINK for more information regarding Webroot's stance on these annoying programs.
The best thing to do is to submit a Trouble Ticket and ask Webroot Support to take a look and remove these for you. There is NO CHARGE for this for valid WSA license holder.
Also, we have had a lot of discussion regarding these recently, and I have posted an Idea for Webroot to consider asking them to increase PUA detection. The more users that need help removing a particular PUA the more likely and faster that PUA will be added to detection.

Lets try a different tack. Please right click on the task bar at the bottom of your Desktop and select 'Task Manager' from the dropdown contect menu presented.
When the Task Manager opens (make sure that if running WIn8 that yo are in detail mode...look in the botton lefthand corner for an indication of this and a button to change to that if not). Then select the Processes tab. When that displays click on the top of the column entitled 'Memory' so that it sorts the list below in descenting memory usgae order, and note down the top 3 memory using apps/files listed on the lefthand side together with the amount on memory used.
Repeat this for the column headed 'CPU' and then post back here with the 6 apps/file and value combinations noted and we can see if that yeilds any clues as to what ails your computer.
