Hello ?,

Welcome to the Webroot Community,

Can you please do a clean reinstall of WSA and Please follow the steps closely! Just to eliminate that it might be Webroot causing the slowdown

  • Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings if asked to as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
Please let us know if that resolves your issue?

Thanks,

Hi leonard1

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would you be able to advise as to exactly what you mean by "is so much slower after WIndows 10 install"? Exactly what are you comparing pre & post Win 10 install that leads you to that conclusion? Is it scanning speed? Speed at which the application opens?

A little more informastion as to the symptoms would assist us in assist you.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi leonard1

Sounds like the best approach, gievn what you say, is the uninstall/clean install suggested by Sherry, at least as a first step in the process to gettingthis sorted out for you.

Done a uninstall and install twice no change in scan tine over 25 minutes. I was running windows 7 and upgraded to windows 10 before the upgrade everthing was fine, scan less than 3 minutes. Blame it on windows 10?

Hello ?,

Would you mind submitting a Support Ticket which is free of charge with an active subscription and they can have a look.

Also did you make sure you didn't import your old settings when reinstalling Webroot. Just curious.

I uninstalled it from the control panel and used Webroot's install instructions from thier website. I was not asked if I wanted to changed setting so I can't tell if my setting are the same as before. I'm not the most knowedgeable person with computers so bear with me, please.

Hi leonard1!
There is nothing to bear, I can try to help you as much as needed. That's why I am here. Please would you try just 1 more time and go slowly with the prompts and do not import any settings.

If this doesn't work or you do not want to reinstall again then it's quite alright to contact support. They will respond in usually 24-48 hrs. Be on the lookout for an email from them. Ok?

Hello there,

I think you might want to take the option of submitting a Trouble Ticket.  Support would be able to take a closer look and figure out what is causing the long scan times... that is not normal at all.

If you have a huge amount of temp files, browser cache, temp Windows files, that could be what is slowing your scan down.

Hi leonard1,

You have already been given a lot of good information in this thread.

I had the exact same thing happen to me and after I deleted the Windows.Old directory my scan times went back to 1 min 20 sec.  It may or may not do the same for you but in my case it sure helped, and freed up space as well.

If you are interested you can find the information on removing the directory here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/how-do-i-remove-the-windows-old-folderhttp://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/how-do-i-remove-the-windows-old-folder.

Be sure to back it up to if you think you might want or need to add it back.

Good luck,
Dave
