The prompt box suggested I fix my computer. I bought the subscription.  Then it found the thret but apparently my $55 bought a threat identified subscription not the fix.  First off, f***ing duh.  It already said it had a problem but I had to renew.  Second, it only offered the renewal I purchased.  I called support to find out...oh no you needed something else.  Now I'm on hold for 10 minutes and still can't start working today.

Hi tkbyrnes

Welcome to the Community Forums.

This does not sound like anything related to WSA and so could be a scam, but without more information on exactly what the popup box said I cannot be sure.

In general, neither Webroot nor any other legitimate companies send emails, pop ups, or phone calls of any kind advising that you may have a problem.

So my suggestion is that you Open a Support Ticket ASAP to let the real Webroot Support Team take a look at this for you.  If yo are a WSA user with an active/current subscription then the service is free of charge.

Please also see this KB article for more on the legitimate support options you have from Webroot.

And please do let us know what transpires re. your situation.

Regards, Baldrick
