How do I update to windows10 compatible when I can't run the program to update.

Not quite sure what you issue is. Are you saying that you cannot update WSA? You should not need to as WSA auto updates usually silently without the user knowing.
But if you want to do so manually the quickest approach is to right clcik on the system/notification tray icon for WSA (a green circle with a 'W' in it) andfrom the dropdown menu displayed select 'Check for updates'. If there is an update available it should let you know and offer to carry out the update. If not then you are up to date.
