Hello,
I've recently noticed something strange about Webroot on my Windows 10 computer. It looks like the software is running fine, I can pull up the UI and it says that Realtime Shield is active and such. But I just noticed looking through my services in Task Manager that a service that Windows Defender uses was running.
So I went into Security & Maintenance to check to see what was going on. Turns out that even though I have Webroot installed and it looks to be running, my computer is using Windows Defender instead. It says Windows Defender is "On" and Webroot is "Off". I see down at the bottom of that window that there is a button that says I should be able to turn "On" Webroot but its permanently greyed out.
Just to clarify, I do have the latest version of Webroot (9.0.1.35). Its not crashing on me or anything. It says its been doing scans periodically.
I haven't tried to uninstall/reinstall Webroot yet, I would like to hear if there is an alternative way to fix this issue first? If not, I'll give that a try and hopefully the fresh install will override Windows Defender.
Thanks.
