Hi Webroot Community
I was wondering if anyone else has noticed WSA not always being recognised as the Default Virus and Threat Protection App in Windows 11.
I was looking at the Windows 11 Security Centre and noticed the PC had reverted to Windows Defender as the Default Default Virus and Threat Protection App.
The other thing I have noticed is on Bootup the Security Centre takes a couple of Minutes to Decide the Default Virus and Threat Protection App.
I did a fresh install of Windows 11, and  WSA was the first app I installed and Windows Security took a couple of minutes to acknowledge WSA.
Kind regards

Hi  Webroot Forum Members
I have a solution to make Webroot Appear straight away in Windows 11 Virus and threat protection.
Security Centre is set to  Automatic Delayed Start by default, tap the Windows key and R Key type services.msc and navigate to Security Centre.

The registry key is a protected key, it errors it you try to change the DelayedAutoStart to Automatic.
Go to Major Geeks and download PowerRun, 1.9 was the version I just download.
https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/powerrun.html
PowerRun allows Regedit to run with TrustedInstaller privileges and allows the Registry Edit to write without errors.

Extract the Zip File to a convenient folder.
There are two executable PowerRun and PowerRun_x64.exe right click the appropriate file for your system and run as administrator and select Yes to User Account Control
IMenu bar System Tools drop down menu select Registry Editor.
The registry key is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wscsvc
right click DelayedAutoStart , select modify and change to 0.
Exit regedit and reboot.
Click Windows Security in the Taskbar, Virus and threat protection Webroot is listed immediately.

I have edited this post an easier method to access Registry Editor and updated image.

Hi Triplehelix
Thank youfor the follow up.
Support got me to run some logs.
After analysing the logs Webroot Support reported that WSA is protecting  the system from startup.
If I l check Windows Security I still see the spinning blue dots under Virus and Threat Protection for Several Minutes after start up and then WSA is listed as the Virus and Threat  Protection App.

Hi Triple helix

My System Windows 11 Pro  looks the same as yours after a few minutes.

I cannot recall with previous versions of Windows Webroot taking so long to be listed as the as the Security Software.
