windows 7 explorer has been crashing lately, and I have to restart regularly. What's wrong?
+1I've had problems recently with Windows 7 Explorer. Keeps crashing. Download folder has lost most of it's contents. Any idea where the problem is coming from? I scan daily, Webroot says 'no problem' but i'm sure there is one.

Welcome to the Community Forums.
The problem here is this could be caused by a number of things the majority of them not malware-related. Windows Explorer is an old application that has seen better days (it has been revamped under Windows 10) but I have managed to dig up this thread over at the MS Support Forums that may be of assistance.
