Windows Action Center and Webroot seem to be at odds

The Webroot Secure Anywhere gives me the green check mark and says "Protected" but the Windows Action Center says
"Windows did not find antivirus software on this computer." Should I be concerned?

Hi davefenska

Welcome to the Community Forums.

If you have gotten the Green check mark in the WSA client then yo are proected and it is Windows Action Centre that is not reporting things correctly...so no need to be worried. This is most likely caused by Windows Defender being enable and WIndows deferring to it own security app rather than a 3rd party one. Let us know if yo would like help with disabling Windows Defender.

Glad to be able to assist.

It is funny how, even by Microsoft's admission, Windows Defender is somewhat of a lame duck and they sort of recommend that one uses 3rd party security software...but then they sort of make it hard for that 3rd party software to get recognised by the Action Center.

Never really understood the thininig behind that...but that is Microsoft for you...LOL
