I used to have a handy dandy Right-Click option in WRSA for quickly scanning individual files directly from Windows Explorer.
Somehow the WRSA option has been lost recently (Maybe after one of the latest auto-updates that may have gone bad?).
However, I still have Right-Click Scan ability for MalwareBytes and SuperAntiSpyware (which run on manual mode).
I have a 3-PC license with 257 days left and am presently only using 1 seat with the other 2 seats to be installed on other devices soon after I sort out this missing Right-Click issue.
The WRSA option for Right-Click Scanning is checked on my local console.
So ..... do I first shut-down WRSA and then unistall it from my WinXP Control Panel (it's already the latest verstion 9.0.8.72)?
Then reboot (while staying connected to the internet behind my hardware router) and run the lastest downloaded WRSA installer (it's still the same version) and simply manually enter my keycode?
Or for a repair, can I run the same version WRSA installer over my current WRSA with WinXP?
BTW, I presume I won't be using up my 2nd or 3rd unused license seats via such a reinstallation?

- Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
- KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
- Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE) Let us know if it is the Mac version you need.
- Uninstall WSA and Reboot
- Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings if asked to as you can set it up as you like once it's done
- Let it finish it's install scan
- Reboot once again

Thanks for the help ..... I completed the clean reinstall per instructions posted but unfortunately the Right-Click to scan option in WinXPpro SP3 remains missing.
Also, FWIW the Offine Scanning Option resets itself to "off" after every reboot, but I can fix that in a few minutes by logging into my Webroot account and switch to "User Configured Settings" to set and keep that option "On" after reboots.
I guess the last update or two of WRSA may have broken the handy dandy Right-Click to Scan Option for WinXP machines.

May I ask if you followed these instructions not to import any settings if asked to as you can set it up as you like once it's done?
Have you rebooted your PC after Webroot install?
My next bit of advice would be to Subilt a Support Ticket which is free of charge with your Webroot subscription and they can check this out for you.

Right .... I did not import previous settings.
I'm going first fire up my Win7pro laptop which also has WRSA same version (but a different Key) to see if the Right-Click is working on it.
Might be just a WinXP thing as I've noticed features of other companies software programs are gradually dying off on WinXP systems as of late.

You can put a check mark in the "Prevent any program from modifying the HOSTS file" option and then click "Save". Enter the
CAPTCHA characters requested and then press OK. I have this checked in all my PCs. So I would keep that checked. If you wanted you could also select. "Reset to defaults" and then click Save. There you will see if this is on by default. But if you want to change things back to the way you had them in the Settting you can do it and then click Save again.
I am am not sure why you aren't getting the right click option in Webroot with W XP. I will ping ? and see if he has anything to add here.

+56It should work across all Windows OS's so the best bet is to Submit a Support Ticket from that PC with XP but just before doing that run this log gathering tool and use the same email address that you will use for the ticket and upload the files and let support know that WSAlogs.exe has been uploaded! Okay thanks ..... WSALogs has been run, uploaded and submitted via a Support Ticket explaining the situation.
Regarding the HOSTS file protection, it's funny that when I did the clean reinstallation w/o using my prior preferences or settings, the default for that was un-checked. Weird, but it is checked now (by me manually and then saved) and so far is holding that way.
