WSDaemon running at 97% - mac running hot and loud

Lately my macbook air has been running hot, and very loud. This has been going on for a few weeks. Ran an activity monitor and it shows WSDaemon running between 95-100% for the last hour. A search led me here, with a connection to Webroot.  Before I renew my subscription, is there a way to lessen the activity? Webroot is not currently running a scan.
