Zeus Trojan/bot or Zbot

Got a notification from Cox about a Zeus Trojan/bot also known as Zbot. Next Webroot scan wasn't due for another 6 hours so I decided to just run a scan but nothing was picked up. Does that mean I don't have the Zbot or is it possible Webroot did not find it?

Thank you,
Kirk

Hello and Welcome to the Webroot Community!

Anything is possible but Identity Shield still would protect your online Banking and such please see the latest Test Results: https://www.mrg-effitas.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/MRG-Effitas-Online-Banking-Certification-2015-Q1.pdf and can you Submit a Support Ticket and they can do a security check free of charge with your paid subscription!

Thanks,

Daniel 😉

Hi kirkdiet

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Apologies but I am not familiar with 'Cox' from which you got a notificaiton about a Zeus Trojan/bot.  I would say that if you have scanned with WSA and nothing has been detected then you are most likely OK, and the notification was a false positive.

But if you are concerned and/or believe that there is unexpected activity on your system then I would Open a Support Ticket so that the Support Team can take a thorough look for you and reassure you.

Regards, Baldrick

I used to see 2/3 of these a week in Support, the ISP will offer to "clean" your PC of said infection for a fee. Out of the probably 12 I have remoted into I have never once detected any infections. What I say is to contact the ISP and ask for some hard evidence of Zeus. They never get any info back....

Thanks for the input everyone.

Cox is my internet provider.

I'll have to try the ticket thing.
