I need to disconnect my Ipad temporarily to install Webroot on a new computer before I disconnect my wife's old computer. How do I do that?

You should not have to disconnect your Ipad in order to install Webroot on anything.
Could you please provide more information about the issue you are seeing? I am not quite sure what you are referring to.
If you are trying to transfer Webroot to a new computer, you simply need to install it on the new one, and then uninstall on the old one. You will not be penalized in any way for this.
