I'm running Chrome in Windows 8 and when I have Webroot Secure enabled, Chrome will not open for me. All tabs are blank and the busy icon just sits there and spins. I have to disable Webroot to get it to do anything. I need a fix for it and can't figure out how to add the Chrome application to my safe list in Windows 8. Can somebody please help me?

Hello hezzy_t,
Welcome to the Community Forum,
Sorry ti hear of this issue. Lets try a few things here ...
Can you check your Identity Shield to see if it's under Protect if it's under Deny move it over to Protect http://www.webroot.com/En_US/SecureAnywhere/PC/WSA_PC_Help.htm#C6_IDProtection/CH6c_ManagingProtecte...
Can you look here when Chrome is running to see if it's being Monitored?

If this doesn't help then please do as follows:
I want you to disable Webfilter Extension in Chrome and see if that works instead of shutting down Webroot.
To disable Webroot Filtering Extension as follows:
You can disable it/find the information required by clicking on the three horizontal lines icon just under the 'X' in the top righthand corner of the browser. From the context menu displayed navigate and hover over the 'Tools' entry and that should open up a further context menu on which you click on the Extensions entry to open the browser page showing all your Chrome extensions.
Towards the bottom of the list you should see the two Webroot-related extensions, and next the the Web Filtering one you should see the version no. (in the format v1.2.3.45) and to the right of that is a check box to enable/disable the extension itself.
If disabling the Webfilter engages Chrome again then I'd say maybe a clean install of Webroot is in order. If you want directions for this I can get them to you.
If you'd rather Open A Support Ticket to let them know that you have this issue, this service is free of charge with an active subscription.
Please keep us informed and let us know how you are doing ok?
Thanks,
