Firefox freezes constantly since installing Webroot

I had a free trial of McAfee on my new laptop running Windows 8. I never had a problem until my free trial ran out and I installed Webroot. Now Firefox freezes constantly. It happens just going to regular web sites like hotmail or ebay. It will not let me click on anything except the minimize/maximize/close buttons in the top right. Is there anything to be done about this? I even switched to Internet Explorer, which I hate, to see if that helped and it froze up too. hopefully I can post this before it freezes up again. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello NewNick,

Welcome to the Community Forum,

Have you uninstalled McAfee free trial? I woud do that and then see if FF freezes up on you again.

McAfee  Download and Instructions

If you are still having troubles we can do a Uninstall/clean reinstall of Webroot. I can send you those instructions if you want. Just let me know.

Kind Regards,

Yes, I did unistall the free trial. It did take a long time to uninstall, so maybe it messed with something on it's way out? I read through some other issues and saw the uninstall/ reinstall directions. I'll try that. Thanks!
