I just installed webroot and then a new hp printer and can't get the printer to connect.
I have turned off webroot to install the printer software but still can't get connected. The printer shows it is on my network as well as well as my router. I have read that the firewall may be set to be blocking the discovery of the printer. How do I access this feature and change the settings? Thanks PJM.

Welcome to the Community Forum,
Please take a look at this KB article and here which should help by putting all the information re. areas that WSA can 'interfere' (for want of a better word) with apps/files and where the user can intervene and adjust settings, to "Allow," "Protect/Monitor," or "Block/Deny".
Essentially, there are 3 such areas:
1. PC Security > Quarantine > Detection Configuration
2. Identity & Privacy > Protected Applications
3. System Tools > System Control > Control Active Processes
Which I would recommend that you look in succession to see if you can determine where the issue lies and then adjust settings as suggested by the KB article.

I checked my Webroot settings while running a print job and what I found follows:
As was mentioned, you need to check the Active Connections. Look for the HPNetworkCommunicator.exe and depending on what options you have installed, such as ePrint, possibly the HPNetworkCommunicatorCom.exe and ensure they are set to Allow.
Also while trying to print, check the Active processes found under Utilities -> Advanced-> System Control -> Control Active Processes (Tab), and click the Start button at the bottom. Again, look for the HPNetworkCommunicator.exe, RunDll32.exe, and Spoolsv.exe. They need to be set to Allow.
