Hi -
I cannot see option to be alerted when a program wants permission to access. In the Firewall Option the options are no longer there. They were there on Windows 7 but since installing on Windows 8 all programs are going out by themselves but I would like to be notified by pop up box.:@
please help

Hi CDJVC
Welcome to the Community Forums.
I am afraid there is no way of returning those options you have seen under Win7, as this is due to what to what MS allow developers to access/interact with then built in Windows Firewall.
For some more information on this topic please see this previous thread.

Lee, in Windows 8.1, you can set your user account settings.
Swipe from lower right, click on search and enter UAC
You can move the slider up to "Always Notify". You will be asked for permission to run the program.
I hope this helps!
Please let us know.
You can protect applications from accessing your personal files with WSA. You will find more information in the online user guide in this section Managing Protected Applications.
Feel free to browse the online manual and our Knowledge Base
Please let us know if this helps and feel free to ask if you need further assistance.
Our tech support team is also available and will be happy to assist. You can reach them by submitting a support ticket
