I take all precautions when purchasing online. Just had my credit card info stolen for the second time in 2 years. I've had Webroot for 3 years at least. Is there anything I need to change in my settings?
Hi Mazie

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Sorry to hear of your troubles.  The answer to your question is not an easy one.  The Identity Shield should protect you from the theft of your card information by protecting your data as you surf.  I think that you should check to make sure that all the browsers and apps that handle or may come into contact with your card information/personal information are showing as protected under the Identity Shield.

To check this please click on the cog/gear icon to the right of the Identity Protection tab and from the next panel displayed click on the Application Protection tab.  Once the new panel opens run down the list of files/apps listed on the righ and make sure that any browsers or apps that you may use in connection with your online shopping/activities is showing as 'Protected'.

It is just possible that one or more are not so set.

If you need more information on the Identity Shield features please take a look at this Online Help Text page.

Do let us know what you find and if you have any further questions please feel free to post them here.

Hello and Welcome to the Webroot Community!

May I ask which Browsers you use and are they listed in Identity Shield? http://www.webroot.com/En_US/SecureAnywhere/PC/WSA_PC_Help.htm#C6_IDProtection/CH6c_ManagingProtectedApps.htm also with your browser open do you see the Yellow Padlock on the WSA Tray Icon by the System Clock? http://www.webroot.com/En_US/SecureAnywhere/PC/Content/Resources/Images/Icon_lock.png

Thanks,

Daniel 😉
My bet would be that it was from one of the consumer credit card breaches that have occured in the past year.
