My web-based mailboxes are being phished. I'm being affected by my friend's phising email, and I clicked onto the phishing link.  My mailboxes then send out phising emails to my friends. I'm on Windows 7, cannot upgrade to Windows 10 due to registry problems.

My AVG failed to detected the phishing link. I have deleted the phishing email from my friend, changed my mailbox password and changed to another anti-virus program.  Done a system scan and found nothing malicious.

Do I need to do anything further ? Do I need to scan my emails ? Any apps to do so ?

Many Thanks
Hi Claire,

Welcome to the community you done the best thing and deleted the email from you mailbox, What i suggest you do is tell your friends in your mail box to not open any attachments from the email which as been sent from your mailbox and to delete them right away. To make sure your pc is safe you can use http://www.webroot.com/gb/en/home/products/trials for a free trial to scan your pc for malware and see if the email as left a virus. if you are using Webroot aswell i suggest you do a full scan to be on safe side also if you are using Weboot you can open a support ticket here.

Hope this helps thanks Adam.
