THIS IS A SCAM!!  Neither Microsoft nor any other company sends emails, pop ups, or phone calls of any kind advising that you may have a problem.
 
If you clicked anything links, allowed them to remote into your computer, or went to any web sites please submit a Trouble Ticket ASAP.  (Now would be a good idea....)

Microsoft never issues this type of warning or email or anything of a sort!  Please see the following link for Microsofts official word on this:

Got a call like that yesterday and and the guy said their system monitored a virus in my computer. He said I should l should give him access so he could remove it but obviously he was bluffing. i didn't have a single computer in the house. I hung up.

But I made sure everyone finds out about the scam. I reported the call and the phone number to Callercenter.com. The website gets about 100 thousand visitors daily and it sure is the best place to share a warning.
