I just installed webroot internet security and wanted to know if I should turn off windows defender on my pc.

There is no need to uninstall Windows Defender just because you have installaed WSA, as WSA will co-exist very nicely with Windows Defender (that is the way that WSA has been designed from the outset).
Having said that WSA provides much, much better protection than Windows Defender and therefore there is no real point in running both. All that Windows Defender does is to add some drag to your system' s resources.
My recommendation would therefore be that you do uninstall WIndows Defender or at least disable it for a while and see if WSA does the job for you on its own.
