web root is slowing my computer down..how do I fix this
Hi joymv1

Welcome to the Community Forums.

It would be extremely helpful if you would be able to give us a little more to go on than this. What exactly is giving you that impression?  What are the signs?  Have you recently installed WSA?

Just to check out what you are saying you could uninstall WSA, check performance, then clean install WSA and check performance again...that would give us something to go on and if it is because you have recently installed WSA and the install was faulty then the uninstall/clean re-install may resolve that.

To undertake the uninstall/clean reinstall please follow these directions:

  • Make sure you have a copy of your Keycode
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
Check performance; best to use something that you can get a good feel for in terms of how fast one or more of your most used programs opens or the like. I am assuming that you do not have benchmarking software available.

  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings if offered during the re-install proces; as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
Recheck performance using the same test that you used after uninstalling, and advise back.

Regards, Baldrick

Hello and Welcome to the Webroot Community!

After the Clean Reinstall and it's still slow just Submit a Support Ticket as you could have many Unknown files on your system and they will Whitelist them for you and that will speed it up!
