New Features/Enhancements:
- Public REST APIs
- Schedule User List and Device List Reports
- “View File Issues” Link Relocated
Carbonite Endpoint v11.3 provides enhanced API integrations, empowering administrators to improve device management, streamline user management, and implement legal hold procedures.
Furthermore, the scheduled User List and Device List report feature provides customizable, automated reports that deliver detailed information about users, devices, and their usage patterns. These reports can be scheduled to be sent via email daily or weekly, enabling proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and analysis. Lastly, the “View File Issues” link is relocated from the alert banner to the left of the "Scan files now" link. This provides a more intuitive and accessible user experience.
New Differentiation:
Carbonite Endpoint Backup API's Create User Group and Update Device APIs, absent in Druva InSync, offer significant advantages in both automation and integration. These APIs enable automated user group creation and device updates, crucial for scaling deployments and efficiently managing large numbers of endpoints. Additionally, they allow for seamless integration with existing IT management systems, empowering administrators to tailor device configurations and user group assignments to specific organizational needs.
Customer Benefits:
The enhanced API capabilities offer the following benefits for integrations:
- Update Device API: Enables programmatic modification of device settings and configurations, streamlining device management and ensuring consistent policies across deployments.
- Device Legal Hold API: Facilitates the implementation of legal hold procedures by allowing for the preservation of device data, crucial for compliance and legal investigations.
- Create User Group API: Automates the creation of user groups, simplifying user management and enabling efficient assignment of policies and permissions.
- Delete User API: Provides a programmatic method for removing users and their associated data, ensuring proper offboarding and maintaining data security.

Universal Reporter generates reports automatically for MSPs which are shared with their clients covering Endpoint Protection, DNS and WSAT. This allows MSPs to spend more time on their clients rather than on manual report generation.
This release adds a DNS Summary Report Template for containing key insights on Domains visited and User behaviour. The template dramatically reduces the time to generate a DNS report for end-users by leveraging aggregated reports from the DNS backend.
New Features & Enhancements
With the release of Version 1.4.24332.4, the DNS Summary Template allows quick generation of the following:
- Total number of requests and requests blocked
- Top 5 User Behavior
- Top 10 Category Analysis
- User listing by Top 5 Categories
- Category breakdown by volume
- Pareto Analysis of all Categories

To expand on the success of DNS Leak Prevention, a second patent was filed and then implemented, namely Dynamic DNS Server Detection. This unique feature is designed to leverage the DNS Protection agent to identify active connections and then to interrogate them as to whether they are DNS resolvers. Based on this determination, access is subsequently regulated. This is a significant step forwards in controlling DNS resolution as some DNS servers, such as DNS over HTTPS (DoH) are notoriously difficult to detect. Not only does this improve the functionality of DNS Leak Prevention, it also augments our own intelligence and furthers the symbiotic relationship with BrightCloud.
New Features & Enhancements
- Dynamic detection of DNS resolvers
- VPN support and functionality improvements
- Stability improvements when moving between wireless networks while in sleep mode
- Optimization of local DNS resolvers
Customer use cases
- Improved VPN support
- Improved blocking of DoH resolvers
- Improved agent stability

Information Archive now has new configuration options for our customers to capture only what the data they need to stay compliant: the ability to filter Microsoft Teams capture down to an AD group or groups.
Historically, MS Teams capture has been at the entire tenant level, meaning every single users’ chats, messages, and files were captured by the archiving mechanism. For many companies, this meant that too much or unnecessary data was being captured into their archive. Now, administrators can filter this capture down to a single group or multiple groups, such as a single department or the members of an acquisition.
