My account shows 3 computers but only 2 actually exist - one died and I added a new computer to the account.

I cannot figure out how to deactivate the dead computer from my account.

I need to know because I am about to replace a computer

Thanks
Hi r3ad3r

Welcome to the Community Forums.

This Knowledge Base article should tell you all that you need to know re. what you are looking to do.

If that does not answer the question then please post back and we can try something else.

But please also post back if it does resolve things for you.

Thanks Baldrick - but the solution did not work.

I followed the steps - from the console select pc security, select the computer, but hit a snag at "select the command s tab"

The article shows a tab labeled "commands"

The only tabs I have are "about" and "scan information" There is no tab for "commands"

I have 3 computers active - none of the 3 have a "commands" tab
Hi r3ad3r

That is strange...I have just followed the instructions myself (I know them but your post left me with a doubt) and I very definitively have a 'Commands' option for any of the PCs I have listed.

OK then, click on your user name in the top right hand corner and from the dropdown select 'Account Settings' and at the bottom of the page displayed you should see something like this:

What do have where I have highlighted with the arrow?  Please advise back.

If it does not say 'Admin' then click on 'Change' and you should see something similar to the following:

Click on the down arrow on the right (arrowed above) and select 'Admin' from the dropdown options...then click on Save Access & Permissions...and now go back and see if the 'Commands' option has appeared where the KB article described.

Let us know how things go.

That did it!

Just one little snag - my user name was on the top RIGHT corner rather than left and it took me a while to figure that out

Otherwise every thing is fine - changing the admin status made "commands" appear and I was able to deactivate.

You are wonderful!
Hi r3ad3r

Assuming that works...just thinking ahead...you may want to review this whole area and the options & permissions that your PCs have?  If so then I would recommend that you read the Web Console help text (accessed from the dropdown that you get when clicking on your user name in the top right hand corner).

As a short cut this link will take you to the first page that is relevant to this area...:D

Happy reading.

Thanks for your help.

I did try your suggestion about going to account settings and making adjustments...I see how to do that but since everything is working ok and I'm not sure about changing anything I left it alone.

I should come back and learn more - thanks for the invitation.
Hi r3ad3r

You are mosty welcome...and probably quite to leave alone until something is not working the way that you want it.  And now you know where to go and what to do to resolve that sort of thing...;)

Please do come back and learn more...you WILL be most welcome.
