I got WebRoot SecureAnywhere from best buy with a new laptop. Now, I have pop ups and ads appearing after every few clicks on my web browser (Google Chrome AND Internet Explorer)! Please help me get rid of what I believe to be 'adware'.
Thanks!

Hi NAYNAY543
Welcome to the Community Forums.
There could be a couple of reasons for this; firstly, that the sites you visit are 'throwing' advertising at you (which to be honest is how the web works these day, unformatunately). If that is the case then WSA cannot really help you here as it is not designed to stop popup add in browsers.
These are best stopped, or controlled by, getting and installing browser addons/extensions which will do the job for you. Below are the names of some suggestions as to which to install, plus instruction on how to get to the place that you can search for and install these from:
For Chrome: uBlock (my preference) or AdBlock Plus
Click on the icon with the 3 horizontal lines (in the top right hand corner of the page) and from the dropdown menu select & click on 'More tools', from the new dropdown menu select & click 'Extensions'. Scroll to the bottom of the tab opened and click on 'Get more extensions', and in the search window type in one of the above suggested extension names, once found click on the add button and that should add the selected extension.
For IE:
It works slightly differently...please see this MS web page for suitable instructions as to how to turn the popup ad blocker on and off.
Lets see what effect the above has on the prevelance of this popups before we delve into the other option given that this is more complex and we should rule out the simpler cause first before going there. If the above does not help reoolve the issue for you then please post back and we will go for Plan B.
