It takes about 4 minutes before I can do anything in Windows7 after a re-boot. System loads, desktop is there, but when I click on anything - either nothing happens or I get the little spinning hour glass. My modem lights are flashing like a network connection is being made and after the modem lights go off, my system workd again. This all started right after installing Webroot AV. Is there anything I can try to make this better? Why would Webroot stop my system from working for that long of a time?

Hello jolt2, welcome to the Webroot Community!
Since installing WSA, have you completed a complete scan?
It rather sounds like you have the settings set for scan at every bootup, though I am not sure. While can are generally well under 2 minutes, some situations can make the can run a bit slower. Take a look at the settings:
Open WSA
Click on Advanced Settings at the upper right
Click on Scheduler in the left pane.
In the right pane, check what "Scan Frequency" is set for, and if it is set for "Scan on Bootup".

Hi jolt2
Welcome to the Community Forums.
In this case I would recommend that you undertake an uninstall/clean reinstall; uninstall WSA, REBOOT, clean install using a new version (here for Webroot or here for Best Buy) on the installer (making sure that you do not import any previous settings if so offerred), REBOOT...and check for the issue once more.BTW make sure that yunhave your keycode avaiable as you will need it during the install process.
If not resolved then please come back here and we will review the position again.

I did go and check the scan frequency. It was set to "scan every day", which was the default. I opened the drop down box and looked at the options. I clicked on the "scan every day" and saved it. I shut down windows, rebooted, and it seems to be good now. This was the 5th re-boot since the install of WSA and I don't know if saving that setting over fixed the problem or if WSA just needed some settle in time, as I left it for awhile and came back to try this. It looks like all is good now and I can install WSA on the other computer. Thanks for the info and the help
Really, I think not quite sure what happened, but it would appear that the settings were somehow corrupt. Changing it as you did may have fixed it, and I have a feeling a reinstall as Baldrick also would have fixed it.
Glad you are up and working either way, let us know if you have any other questions/problems!
