Hello nessofresh
Welcome to the Community,
You should do the following to check if WSA Firewall is blocking something:.
1. From the main application panel click on the gear/cog symbol to the right of the PC Security tab.
2. In the panel that opens you should see to the right hand section on the Firewall and at the bottom of this you should see a button marked 'View active connections'.
3. Click on that and in the panel displayed look at the top window labelled 'Process'. If you run down the list check for reference to the printer files you are interested in.
4. If you find entries check to see if they are (on the righthand side of the window) marked as 'Allow' or 'Block'.
5. If marked as 'Block' and you are sure that they are safe then click in each case on 'Allow' so as to indicate to the Firewall that they can pass security app providers who use the Windows Firewall, as Webroot does.

I am assuming that your old key code is a Best Buy Subscrition Software copy, as is your new one. The Best Buy version does provide a 30 days grace period during which the software will still work, even though it shows expired. After that 30 days you have no protection.
You must actually activate your new key code in order for your computer to be protected.
Again, ASSUMING your old key code AND your new key code are both Best Buy Subscription verions, please do the following:
Open WSA
Click the 'gear tool' next to My Account
Enter the new key code in the white box on the right side
Click Activate
Please let us know if you have problems with this, or if EITHER the old key code or new key code are NOT a Best Buy Subscription version key code.
I hope this helps!
Hi nessofresh
Welcome to the Community Forums.
In case you have not yet resolved the 'printer cannot communicate' I am willing to bet that the issue is in fact a WIndows issue rather than WSA-related.
You might like to try going to 'Devices & Printers' in the Start Menu (or searching for it if you are using Win8) to see if it is recognised. If so then right click on the icon for the printer in question (in case you haev more than one..;)) and and select 'Troubleshoot' to run the Windows troubleshooter, and then follow the on screen instruction.
I have used this every time I have had a printing related issue and most times it find and fixes the issue. It will advise as to what it has found or not and also what it has fixed, or not...so if yo do run this do let us know what it reports.
