Windows security wants me to turn on Malware protection. should I?
Hi there Nansee25 and welcome to the Webroot Community!

Webroot is designed to work along side other Internet security programs, it plays nice, so if you get a genuine notification for a security feature from Windows, you may as well enable it. It has been known for some users to still get  security notifications after you have turned them on. If this happens it may be wise to do a clean reinstall of Webroot. I will put the instructions below:

A reinstall is done by:

    • Make sure you have a copy of your Keycode
    • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
    • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
    • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
    • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and do NOT import any settings: you can set it up as you like once it's done
    • Let it finish it's install scan
    • Reboot once again
What should now happen is that Windows should detect the changes and play nice. If you are still having issues regarding your installation you can always get back to us or create a  Support Ticket or you can even get in touch by phone during business hours.  (The online Ticketing system is manned 24/7)

If your subscription is through Best Buy Subscription Software services, you may need to call them at 1-800-GEEK-SQUAD.

Hope this helped, if you still need help please feel free to get back to us.

All the best

Brad
