Hi, I've been using the cloud part of Webroot for about 2 years for unchanging stuff, but recently I'v needed to regularly have changes to certain docs and spreadsheets and the cloud hasn't always kept it. Sometimes has, sometimes not. Also an uploaded folder disappeared completely (never deleted from/by any machine, I should add). I use an Excel finance spreadsheet, and my partner uses it for a small business, so it's not unimportant. Problem maybe is (?) we upload from several different machines (all laptops) in different places, often same day. How does the cloud work in these circumstances - should a change be visible at once, after a bit, next day or what and from all machines the same? Or what? Once I know how it works, I can work with it, but at the moment I'm back on thumb-drives and physically carrying them for security of backup and changes.

Thanks
Hi Paul,

Welcome to the Webroot Community.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with Backup & Sync.

The first thing I would check is that the sliders for Backup and Sync are both set to "On". Open the Webroot interface and click the gear next to Backup & Sync and check. If you find the sliders off and are unable to turn them on then please reboot the PC and try again.

??

If the sliders are on then the next thing to check would be to make sure that the folders are correctly synced.

Click on the Folders tab in B&S and then click the Link to an existing Cloud folder button.

?

Then click each folder listed and be sure that the path is correct. Select folder from list and then browse to the folder on your PC using the Browse button. Then click save.

?

Syncing usually happens in just a few minutes but could take longer, but not more than an hour, I'd say.

If, after checking all of the above, you are still having trouble then please submit a trouble ticket so that support can check this for you. This is a free service with your valid subscription.

Hope this info helps,

BD
Thanks very much. The two sliders were off, so I put them on after restart. The problem may lie with the linked folder machine - I wasn't at all sure which it was, as all my laptops are a bit dodgy one way or another, and that one is going to be junk unless a keyboard replacement I'll do works. However I'm confident that this will now work. Of course I may end up getting back to you to find out how to make the linked folder one on another machine (that would have been an exclamation mark but it doesn't work on this laptop either).

Thanks again

You're welcome, Paul. Glad to hear that. And please don't hesitate to come back anytime. Either I, or one of our other friendly, knowledgeable Community members will be more than happy to assist.

Have a nice day :)
