My  Webrot Internet Security was expiring. I got the new keycode from ebay and downloaded the program 9Webroot 2015 Complete for 5 PC's. .  I had to uninstall the older version before I could install the newer subscription version.

Installaltion went well; hoever the web console is recognizing my pc's from the old subscription I guess from my email address. The Old subscription has about 20 days left on it, however I uninstalled it from 3 pc's already.

I have installed the Webroot Complete  2015 on 3 computers now, and the console is reporting 1 pc which is on the old subscription which I have not updated as of yet.

How can i get the webconsole to recognize my current subscription with the 3 pc's currently installed.

Any information would be helpful.   All wis working well except webconsole.

Hi gmaddie

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Firstly assuming that the previous version that you were using was a post 2011 edition & not purchased from Best Buy then there was no need to uninstall it...you could just have applied the new keycode to unlock the 5 seats & Complete features. There is only one Webroot version and it is the keycode that controls which features/version you have access to....so that is one for the future for you.

You also have 21 days left on your old license so assuming that it was a Complete licenses you may be able to make use of it by Opening A Support Ticket and asking the Support Team to check to see if they can add it to your new keycode/subscription...I cannot promise that they can but 21 day sis 21 days and it is worth asking, eh?

Now, as to your question about the Web Console and getting your new keycode recognised, all you need to do is to go to your current Web Console and when you get to the Home page click on your userid in the top right hand corner and select 'Manage Keycodes' from the dropdown list, and that will provide a new page displaying your old keycode and give you the option to add a new keycode.

Do that first and see if that helps resolve your issue about recognition.  Do post back and let us know how you get on, or if you need more detailed instruction on this, an initial start to which can be found in this KB article.

I am afraid that I have to go offline for a while but I am sure that @ can pick up and help you if required.

Hello gmaddie, welcome to the Webroot Community!

EDIT:  As often happens, @ got here first with an excellent reply.  My own is probably not at all useful at this point, but as I took the time to type it I am going to post it just in case it helps add to what Baldrick has already covered so very well.

There are a few things to be done here actually, since you purchased a new one instead of renewing the original key code.

1) Add the new key code to your Console.  While the new key code is activated on the computers, it has not been assigned to an Online Console, so let's do that first.

  • Log into the Conole
  • At the upper right, click your email address
  • Select Manage Key Code from the drop down
  • Click the Add New Key Code button.  I suggest, to make things easier, that you do not check the option to create a new Console... that might complicate things farther down the road.
  • Enter your new key code and add it to the Console
You MIGHT need to run another full scan on each computer that has the new key code on it in order for it to be picked up and displayed on the Console now that it has been added.  NOTE: There can be a 15 to 20 minute delay for the PC's to appear.  Just be patient and get a nice cold drink of water.... when you get back the PC's might be listed :)

2) Dealing with Old Key Code data and Days.  You said you have days remaining on your old key code.  Those will not automatically be added to the new key code.  You will want to submit a Trouble Ticket  for the following:

  • Webroot Support might be able to either transfer the days remaining on the old key code to the new one OR transfer the days on the new key code to the old, so that you actually would revert to the old key code and continue using it.
  • If you have been using Password Manager or Backup&Sync, the data from those are tied to specific user accounts, such as the account you used to log into the Console.  Each user account is tied to a specific key code.  SO... if you end up using the new key code, once the old one expires your Password Manager and Backup&Sync will stop working.  Webroot Support can also help here.  IF they took the option of having you use the NEW key code, they can transfer the account data from the old key code to the new key code, and things will then keep working nicely.
Obviously the best option will be to end up having Webroot Support make the decision in the end, but it will most likely be easier for them to simply cancel the new key code entirely and apply the 365 days from it to the old key code.  This, by the way, is how they have dealt with my own key code several times in the past with no problems.

I hope all of this helps and I apologize if it is confusing in any way... Let us know if you have any questions.
