I cannot get Chrome to display the Webroot Password Extension to add it to the Chrome browser.
Hello jhasapes,

Welcome to the Community Forum,

Sorry you are having this problem but would please try the Password Management Toolbar Fix Tool For PC (not a Mac)

http://download.webroot.com/toolbarfix.exe

Follow the prompts and let us know if you still need help.

Best Regards,

I downloaded the patch and executed it but I still do not see the Webroot Password extension on Google Chrome. I also looked on IE12 and did not see the toolbar icon. I am running Windows 8 on Levnovo Yoga3. Any other possibilities?

Hello jhasepes,

Sorry that didn't help! You are using Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete right?

Would you mind doing a clean reinstall of Webroot?

Please do a clean reinstall of WSA and Please follow the steps closely!

  • Make sure you have a copy of your Keycode
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
Please let us know if that resolves your issue?

Thanks,

Hi jhasapes

If you are technically competent/confident with your PC skills there is a little work around that you could try...but only do so if you really are comfortable with trying what is described below:

1. Open the Extensions page in a new tab in Chrome (Click on Settings > More tools > Extensions, and whilst there check that the Webroot Password Manager extension is not installed but just not enabled).

2. Look at the top of the page displayed and check the 'Developer mode' box (it should be unchecked by default).

3. Navigate to this path C:ProgramDataWRDataPKG...the quickest way to do that is to enter the string in the search field in the Start Menu (not this is a hidden folder).

4. The locate a file labelled 'lpchrome.crx'.

5. Drag a copy of the  file detailed in 4. above from the PKG folder and drop it onto the Extensions page (you may have to try this a number of times until you get the Confirm New Extension popup, to which you should click 'Yes'.

6. Uncheck the 'Developer mode' box...et volia

Restart Chrome and you should  now see the greyed out circular icon with a 'W' in it in the toolbars at the top of your Chrome browser.

Have not tried this for a while but it worked the last time I did.  Hope that it works for you? BUT remember only use this work around if you really are comfortable with trying what is described above.

Suggestions did not work. I went to PC security-->Advanced-->Block/Allow-->Clicked on allow exe and it worked.
Hi jhasapes

Sorry that that has not worked for you.  I would suggest that, subject to the caveat made in the post, you either try the workaround I provided or open the support ticket previosuly suggested.

Regards, Baldrick
