do I have to log into webroot every time I open my browser in order to use the password and website auto login features
Page 1 / 1
Yes, and that is by design. Otherwise if someone else were to use your computer and open up the browser, then they'd have access to all your passwords. You can leave the browser open rather than closing it out after every usage if you'd prefer not to have to login each time.
Thanks for the quick response.
You're very welcome!
Actually, Nic, if I may interject here, there is actually a way of automatically login into the Password Manager without having to key in the password other than once.
And before you say so I too was surprised when this was explained to me as I had replied to the query in exactly the same way as you did earlier in this thread. ;)

Oh really? Do tell! I love to learn new features 🙂
Hi Nic
OK...well, you right click on the Password Manager icon in your browser toolbar and select 'Webroot'. This opens up a webpage where your email address is dispalyed and you can enter your password, but there is also the option to check a 'Remember password' option (I am assuming that most users will have the 'Remember email' option checked in the toolbar sign on option.
All this means that in future all you need to do is to repeat the above steps but instead of having to fill in the password field and then press 'login' once you are on that page you just need to press 'login'.
Personally, I still think that it defeats the perpose of the Password Manager security...but there are lazy people everywhere (am sure I will get sniped at for that...LOL ;)) and so the feature appears to have been introduced on the sly...so to speak.
And there you have it.

Ah, that makes sense as a workaround. But yeah, if you're not concerned about physical security on your PC (either you always lock the screen when you leave, or you are the only person in your household), then this makes sense to do. Otherwise it's always best to have to re-enter passwords for a password manager.
Very much agree with you, Nic... very much agree.
Thanks for the info! I am the only one that uses my laptop and I do have a screen lock, however I will likely continue to log into webroot for an additional layer of protection. But, sometimes I do get lazy..LOL.. so I tried to follow your advice but had no success. I can not get past the initial step of right clicking on the PW manager icon. I think there may have been a glitch when I loaded webroot? Thhe two reason I suspect that are 1) I can not follow your directions and 2) the log in box for webroot looks very odd. I have inserted screen shots that may hel you decipher my problem, or let me know all is well. Thanks for the assistance.
This is the screenshot when I open my browser (IE 11.09600.17498)
This is a screenshot of my webroot log in box which I think is unusual looking
After I have logged in to webroot
Right click the icon
Left click the icon
I hope I do not have to re-install the webroot software because I have a lot of data already entered and am currently protecting 2 laptops, a tablet and a smart phone. That would be a lot to have to go back and re-do but if there is no other option......

Hi martin
EDIT: Silly me, martin, you could also try, before a clean reinstall, to download and run toolbarfix.exe. This is simply a utility that will remove or install the extensions on Internet Explorer, Chrome and FireFox. Once downloaded, you will need to close any open browser windows before running the utility. Once you have run it, open your browser. You will probably be prompted by the browser about a new extension being added and to enable it, but if not go back to the extensions setting and enable it manually.
Then if that does not resolve the misformed login panel then I would definitively try uninstalling WSA and the clean reinstalling. All your password data will be untouched by this as it is stored in the Webroot Cloud and is retained for as long as you have a valid subscription.
To do a clean reinstall of WSA please follow the steps closely!
Please do let us know how you get on.

- Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode Example:SA69-AANA-A783-DE78-C584
- KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
- Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
- Uninstall WSA and Reboot
- Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings as you can set it up as you like once it's done
- Let it finish it's install scan
- Reboot once again
Please do let us know how you get on.
