After reinstalling Webroot the round green icon is gone. In its place the nondescript windows icon.
Checked properties to locate the errant icon, but alas it reports that there is none.
Oh where, oh where, has my little green icon gone?

Hello ?,
Please follow the instructions below to add a desktop icon.
1. Open Webroot.
2. Click Advanced Settings in the Top right.
3. The first option on the left is for Install Setting and you should see a checkbox that says "Show a shortcut on the desktop"
4. Check that box and click "Save" and the icon should now be visible.
Let me know if this helps.
Regards,

Hi RBW
If I understand correctly you have an icon that should be the WSA one but the friendly Green circle with a 'W' is missing?
When you go into Properties for the WSA shortcut click on 'Change Icon' and in the 'Look for icons in this file' box paste the following:
C:ProgramDataWRDataPKGwebrootwisc.exe
That should give you an option to select your friendly Green circle with a 'W', after which click on OK and then Apply and hopefully that should sort you out.

Thanks guys. That solved the problem.
Hi RBW
No worries...happy to help. As a matter of interest did you have an icon with the 'Webroot Secure Anywhere' as the label and no Green Circle or did you just not have a shortcut for WSA on your Desktop...full stop? Just curious. ;)

When WR no longer showed my PC in the console list, I deleted and reinstalled WB. After that the green icon failed to return. In its place was the generic blank icon.
Opened the folder in program files for WB and selected to send the icon to the desktop, but nooooo. Still the generic icon, which I discovered would not open the program.
By changing the WB option to show a desktop icon everything in my desktop world is at peace once again.
