I installed MacOS Sierra on my iMac.  Now Webroot constantly crashes ... to the point that it's unusable.  I had the latest version of Webroot installed.  Any suggestions on how to fix the problem short of going through the tedious process of rolling back Sierra to El Capitan ... something I really don't want to do.

Sorry to hear about Webroot constantly crashing. Usually a uninstall / reinstall of Webroot fixes most problems.

 

To uninstall Webroot SecureAnywhere, follow the instructions below.


  1. Shut down SecureAnywhere by clicking the Webroot icon http://sw.nohold.net/Webroot/Images/wsa_icon.png in the menu bar and selecting Shut Down SecureAnywhere.

    If prompted, confirm that you want to shut down SecureAnywhere.
     
  2. Open the Finder by clicking the Finder icon http://sw.nohold.net/Webroot/Images/mac_finder_icon.png in the dock.
     
  3. Open the Applications directory.

  4. Click and drag the Webroot SecureAnywhere program icon into the Trash http://sw.nohold.net/Webroot/Images/mac_trash_icon.png in the dock.

    A confirming window appears.  Click Uninstall.

    Webroot SecureAnywhere is now uninstalled.  There is no need to restart your computer.
     
Reinstall Webroot

 You can install SecureAnywhere on Mac OS X 10.7 and above. An Internet connection is required to install the software.



To install the software:

 


  1. Click here to download the SecureAnywhere  installer to your Mac. Or Click here if you have the Best Buy Geek Squad Subscription service.
  2. Double-click wsamac.dmg to open the installer.
  3. Drag the Webroot SecureAnywhere icon into the Applications folder.


     
  4. In the first activation window, enter your keycode and click Activate.
If this does not resolve this issue then you can Submit a Support Ticket free of charge and they will look into this for you.

I completely uninstalled Webroot from my Mac ... even the items that the uninstall program left behind. I reinstalled Webroot version 9.0.3.39: 459. I'm still having the same problem with it crashing. I will submit a support ticket.

Please let us know what Supports reply is. They will probably want Webroot Logs from your computer. If so, they will instruct you on how to do that by way of the Support Ticket. 😃
"Apple has announced plans to release their newest Mac operating system (macOS Sierra) to the public on Tuesday, September 20th. To ensure continued protection, it is critical that customers update their Webroot SecureAnywhere software before upgrading their Mac operating system. Instructions for upgrading can be found here." It would have been nice to have had this notification before I upgraded to Sierra. Webroot dropped the ball on this one and now their customers are paying the price.
Sorry you didn't hear of this information. I do know that some of us got an email from Webroot concerning this.. Sorry that you did not ...Webroot Support will help you. 

 

 
? have you checked your Spam Folder in your email? Sometimes my Webroot's emails goes into my Spam Folder for some unknown reason.

Sorry about that - we tried to trumpet the news far and wide but it's tough to reach everyone.  Apologies that we didn't reach you in time.
