Lately many sites I visit on the internet don't have the 'secure lock' ... and instead have an 'i' with circle around it. When you click on it, it states: 'Your connection to this site is not private.' - then gives details.

I'm pretty good on the computer and can usually muddle my way through, however, I admit I don't really understand the interworkings of the internet. I do know, however, this isn't right.

Anyone know how I can ensure the sites are secure?
Hi samiamdk

Welcome to the Community Forums.

May I ask as to which browser you are using? I suspect that it is Chrome but would like to make sure.

If it Chrome then the first thiing that you can try is cleaning the junk from the browser.

To delete the cache, history, and other browser data from Google Chrome browser:

Go to:

  • Click on Settings
  • Click on Show Advanced settings
  • Under Privacy options just click on Clear browsing data
If clearing browsing data does not appear to help once you have close and then reopened the browser you can try resetting Chrome to the default browser settings.

To do this:

  • Click on Settings
  • Click on Show Advanced settings
  • Click on Reset under Reset Settings (at the very bottom of the page)
See if that works and if not then post back and we will try something else.

Regards, Baldrick
