Confusion about SecureAnywhere Endpoint protection vs. Web Security

I'm a not very happy Trend user and am looking for a new solution.  Our network is about 50 users, 3 servers and about a dozen laptops.  I've been impressed with what I've read about Webroot.  However, I'm confused about your two business products, SecureAnywhere Endpoint Protection and Webroot Web Security.  What are the differences?  They both appear to be comprehensive A/V enterprise solutions.   I can't find anything that compares the two products and gives an overview of which a business should be considering.  Is there a document that helps with this?  I wish I knew some local users (Raleigh, NC) who I could talk to about their experiences with the products, but I don't know anyone locally who is using this.   I am looking for solid A/V and malware protection that provides better protection than Trend and hopefully far less intrusive and resource intensive.  We have a solid firewall (SonicWall) as well as spam protection.  Thanks.

How post pictures in reply?

Hi:   I have some test results with screenshots that I would like to insert in a reply to one of these threads. These pictures are embedded in a Word document.  They don't have URLs to point to.  Is it possible some way to paste this document stream in a reply on this message board?   -- Roy Zider

How to edit a message just posted?

Hello:   Is there some way to edit a message one has just posted?  I can't seem to find the button or setting to do that.  Otherwise, modification or correction of the message requires the user to post a 'reply' to his own message.   TIA   -- Roy Zider

A New Way to Get to Community

As of late last week, visitors to the online console at http://my.webrootanywhere.com will notice a new Community box in their consoles.  The console is already a really useful place to visit.  If you're on any version of SecureAnywhere you can manage your security policy and remotely check on your computer when you're away from it to see if Webroot found infections while you were away.  If you're using Essentials or Complete, you have a Backup & Sync Management area.  You can take advantage of the online storage when you're away from your computer.  If you're using Complete, you have a Password Management area.  If you have any version of Webroot that has mobile functionality, using the console is one way you could go about screaming it, locking it, locating it, or wiping it.  And now you have a handy link to Community too.  :)

How To: Add Color to Your Signature.

Do you want to add color to your signature like I did? Do the following:   * Go to "Private Messages" by clicking the envelope by your forum name.   * Click "Compose New Message". Do not fill in "Send to" / "Message Subject". (Your not sending this message to anyone).   * In the Message Body "Rich Text Tab" Type your signature the way you want it to be shown on the forum.   * Click the "HTML Tab"   * Copy all the context that is shown.   * Go to "My Settings" - You may get a pop-up "Unsaved Information Will Be Lost".  Click OK.   * My Setting Page / Personal Profile, click "Personal Information"   * In the "Signature Block" paste the HTML that you copied.   * CLICK SAVED.   Now look at your signature on one of your posts. You may need to go back and do some adjusting in the signature block. The first time I did mine it was doubled spaced. LOL

Friends, fans and community members,   Some of you may have noticed that there’s another Community Manager who popped up in the community. The most common questions asked about Webroot SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection

Question:  How does WSA perform when no network connectivity is available?   Answer:  While WSA has the strongest protection when connected to the Internet, it provides significant protection when offline. A few thousand critical signatures are pushed down from the cloud for offline protection. The client remembers all of the files it's been told about to provide protection. The client further uses behavioral heuristics to block threats when offline and can even turn into a full "whitelist-only" mode. All files are set to monitor when offline - heuristics are applied in real-time and pre-execution. Each system modification is precisely tracked by WSA. Once the client is back online, if a program is eventually found to be malicious, every change that was made can be reverted.     Question:  Is there a way to create granular overrides for specific or global endpoints?   Answer:  Yes. First impression

1. Deployment tool - It works ok.  I wish there were something more permanent like the deployment tool built into the old Webroot Corporate edition.  However, it's better than what comes with webroot web security... 2. There's an overwhelming amount of policy settings and it's not straight forward on what they all do.  I wish it had a tool tip pop up next to every setting with a description.  That would be easier than going through the help pages. 3. I wish Webroot Web Security was part of the same web console or at least the client should be the same.  Now I have to use two consoles and deploy two clients.   I'm not sure I understand totally how the product works.  It says it uses cloud resources and stores threat defs online etc. but then how would it work when I'm offline?

How to Subscribe to Community Forums Via RSS

Get up-to-the-date information right to your inbox!   Now you can easily subscribe to the forums on the Webroot Community.   For example, if you wanted to know every time someone posted something in the "Community Announcements" forum (also called a Board), you would:   1. Visit the Community Announcements board 2. Click on the Board Options 3. Click Subscribe to RSS Feed from the drop down menu       Now you’ll automatically be notified any time a community member adds a new post to that forum. You can do this with any community forum.   On the contrary, if you want to unsubscribe from a forum's RSS Feed, you would follow the same steps as outlined above - but instead, you would select Unsubscribe.   Note: By default, you are currently receiving notifications on any thread you start or comment on. Detection Reporting and Alerts

Hello,   I am testing the SecureAnywhere Endpoint product. I selected to be alerted "immediately" when there is a detection, and then I downloaded the EICAR test file. The file was detected and removed, but I don't see any detections listed in the console and I did not receive an email. How is detection data reported back to the console, and when should i expect to be notified in the event of a detection?

How to: Add a Signature to Your Posts

Do you find yourself typing the same thing at the end of all your posts? Fuggedaboutit. Save some time by adding a signature to your profile. This way you'll never have to type out the same thing everytime you post.   Here's how you do it:   Go to My Settings (located by the Sign Out link) Select the Personal Profile tab Select the Personal Info tab Type your desired signature into the Signature text boxThat's it! Now you're ready to go.   Need a suggestion for a signature? Try making it fun, but keep it appropriate...something like Thelma, Lover of Sushi, Mother of 3 or Ricky, Webroot Customer Since '97. How to: Delete or Edit Your Post (After It's Been Published)

There's an easy way to delete or edit your posts in the Webroot Community - even after you've published your post!   STEP 1 Navigate to the post you wish to edit or delete. If you can't remember where your post is located, simply click on your display name/login name - near My Settings - to access your profile and see all of your posts.   STEP 2 Click on the Options drop down menu in the top right corner of your post. http://community.webroot.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/16iD4A204D82367D5EA/image-size/original?v=mpbl-1&px=-1 STEP 3 Select either Edit or Delete.
