This one is huge ..... One of our customer has a big issue with new client version. Last update turn off the internet at all endpoints. There was no problem until the update. WSA cut off internet access on all machines where they raised to version .46. They edited policy settings and nothing - only help was to uninstall WSA or its complete shutdown. He can not send us logs from machines because as soon as they turn on the WSA - internet connection will be blocked. Do you or support can somehow remotely help with this situation?

I am impressed by Webroot Secure Anywhere but am a little concerned about the agent commands area in the console. In particular the "download and run a file" option.   I appreciate that the the console is protected by a password and security code but this is not really full two factor authentication - in that a key logger could theoretically pickup entires as they are made and guess / brute force the security code.   In the absence of a full two factor authentication ( a la e.g. Google 2FA) it is at least theoretically possible for my credentials to be compromised . In that event a malicious impostor who succeeded in getting into my console would de facto have access to all the computers on that keycode via the agent commands facility ?   Should the more powerful agent commands not be removed from the console in the interest of greater security?   Rocky

I am testing Web Root Endpoint Security and found that using the default server policy is slowing screen refreshes intermittently on my terminal server for users and my self; as soon as I remove the endpoint all is good; even with only my self connected via RDP to server; resources look good but I need help with Policy adjustments that could be causing slowness for Remote desktop protocol   Thanks Mike

They're simplifying their licensing:   Free   Pro - $250 per administrator/year (req's key) The Pro level will include the Basic subscription.    Enterprise - $500 per administrator/year (req's key + activation) The Enterprise level will include what was formerly known as the Advanced subscription. The Enterprise level also introduces multi-user support for Deploy and Inventory (starting in 3.1 versions). This is a commonly requested feature for our customers who have more than a single admin.More details here.   Anyone a current PDQ users?  They seem to make a pretty good product.

Per @ 's suggestion in this thread, I'm breaking this out into a separate discussion.  What's the worst mess you've inherited from the former IT person?   For me I think it was a donor "database" that happened to just be a word document filled with the contact info of all their donors.  To make matters worse, there wasn't much standardization to the layout.  I spend about a week writing a Perl script to try and parse all the data and at least put it in an Excel spreadsheet.

I'm using the Business User Protection package and try as I might I cannot get Webroot to automatically quarantine a virus.   I have tried on several different machines with different OS versions and no joy. Even with the test virus that Webroot recommend using it still won't quarantine the item.   The most annoying thing is that it is being recognised as such, but the user can still run the application. Even Webroots own test one!   This just isn't acceptable if I have to deploy this into a business as the user will have run the virus long before I get a chance to clean it off the system.   And is there anyway to alert the user that there is a virus present, preferably with a custom message?   I really like the Webroot features, but I'm on the verge of going for another product. Microsoft officially changed the name of their enterprise-based SkyDrive Pro to OneDrive for Business a week ago and today the company confirmed that it will offer a way to access the data storage service without having to also get an Office 365 subscription. In a post on the OneDrive blog, Microsoft said that the stand alone service will be offered starting on April 1st. Good Morning   One of our customer tested WSA on Win Server and noticed that Webroot after logging out from 'Win Server Terminal Session' is not shutting down properly. The process wrsa.exe need to be killed manually. It is rather unwanted effect - maybe you guys know something about this?

If so, what are your plans after EOL?  According to this article, 37% of organizations surveyed are just going to keep using it even though there will be no patches or security updates.  You guys having trouble making a case for upgrades or are your organizations on top of it?

If you are a small business, you will soon be able to get a version of Windows that has previously been available mostly for larger companies. Today, Microsoft has confirmed that the Windows Enterprise Edition will be sold as a stand alone product for anyone to purchase starting on March 1st.     Previously, access to the Enterprise SKU was only possible for small businesses if they signed up to use Windows Intune, or for middle and large companies via a volume license deal with a Software Assurance subscription. It's always fun to hear people's stories of how they got started.  For me it was the classic accidental IT pro.  I graduated from college and had no idea what I wanted to do next.  Ended up working for a government contractor who had a contract to support a couple hundred people in a department at HHS in DC.  I'd grown up tinkering and programming (my first computer was a C64) so I enjoyed getting to learn more in a professional setting.  Back in those days hardware was a lot more tricky (anyone remember dip switches and IRQ settings) and it was fun for me to get my hands on a much wider range of stuff than I had at home.  We were a Novell shop so I got to learn Groupwise.  From there I spent about 10 years doing SMB IT work until I found my way to community management.   How about you guys?  How'd you get your start?

Hi Guys   One of our customers asked why on some endpoints particular www is blocked and at others nedpoints this www is allow for connection? How can I explain this situation to him?   Endpoints are in the same policy.   Best Regards
