Could someone break down the exact technical reason that the numpad registry key shouldn't be deployed to every computer? I haven't seen an explanation of the exact cause of computers ignoring numpad input other than its the Identity Shield. Or what I lose by applying the key to a computer. Thanks!

I purchased Webroot a long time ago because i heard it was good, but i have a question.  If it is suppose to stop threats why did i get the LPPlugin _x64.dll problem and then the Webroot rep tells me that the Registry needs to be fix, Restore Point needs to be fix, Windows update needs to be fix, Over all (Optimisation) And then trys to sell me the following Windows Expert:-, Bestbuy/Staple:- $250 one time fix assurance 30-60 days., Online Tech Support:- $199.98 fix the current issue, assurance for 1yr., Total Defence PC Tune up for 1 yr. upto 3 computer.   Has anyone else gone through this?  He said this problem was caused by some virus trying to get in.  I am not a computer expert but I do purchase software to protect my computer.

If I have two email addresses with two different contact lists on a PC with Outlook and email address "A" gets hacked, does the contact list for email address "B" remain secure ? Thank you.

Hi all,   Is there a way to view a user's windows login ID or their computer name of an endpoint through Webroot console?  I have multiple endpoints that have been cloned which I cannot identify by just the hostname.  Also is there a way to permanently rename the hostname of the endpoint once I get the correct ID?  Otherwise, my console is just going to stay a mess of all these cloned hostnames and I'll have to bust out Excel just to keep track.   -Natalie

Hi,   I'm deploying Webroot throughout my organisation and I'm having a few issues with updating.   Those endpoints at sit behind a corporate firewall and proxy server will not update.  It will download the update but somewhere along the lines it gets corrupted.  I've checked the firewall and there is no problem.  I've checked with the support people for our web device / proxy and nothing is being stopped.  The only way I can update the agent is to manually uninstall it or through the console.  Then manually install latest update on the endpoint.  I've contacted Webroot support but it seems to be baffling them as well.  I got so fed up with 1 endpoint I ended up reinstalling Sophos.  Please help?!!!

I have noticed that since I installed webroot, when i either type in a URL or do a search and click on a link web pages do not always show the flash, so no images and no video.  Somethims I have to hit the back and then the forward button a few times to get it to show.  Other times I have to close the web browser all together and re-open to get the web page to display everything correctly.  Has this happened to anyone and if so do you know a simple fix.   I am sure all I need to do is turn off a policy or something but I have thus far been unsuccessful and finding out which one.  Any help would be great.   Thanks, VericomITGuy

We have a small network (<15) workstations.  We want to install some internet monotoring and blocking software.  Webroot is compromising the workstation installation.  The Software log indicates that a the client software has been compromised.  One of the prodicts that we are evaluating is Pearl Echo Suite.  I have seen this work in other  companies and want to install it.  Their experts say that Webroot must be blocking or modifying the LSP that their software uses.  Is there any way to configure Webroot to allow LSP'S.  

Installing Webroot endpoint protection.   installed it on 25 machines.  Only 17 show up in the console.   I can get a machine that is not showing up in the console to show up by running the installation again..only it displaces another machine that will no longer shows up in the console.   The machines that are not showing up are all cloned machines from the same source image...however webroot was loaded after the images were rolled out.   Webroot also disappears from the workstations that don't show up in the console after about 24-48 hours.   Help!

HI   Whether it is possible from console view to check which files and connections are blocked on the endpoint?  I hope that this is not only available from the endpoint GUI.  Best Regards Sebastian

Hi.  One of our customers reports that one of our sites displays a webroot warning message:   Warning {site url}   (Contains malicious content)   This website contains a known threat and has been blocked   How do I find out what the threat is?  I have scanned the contents of the site and reviewed html source, and nothing seems amiss.  It's an archived site that hasn't been touched in about 6 months.

Windows 7 Pro, WebRoot Endpoint (8.0.4.46)   When I first visited this website and tried to download their software, I could tell that WebRoot  flashed (very briefly) something in the top-left corner of the screen and then the site's download page reappeared and no download was performed.   What I did: Since I couldn't tell what WebRoot was trying to say to me... I tried the download again... This time the firefox window went blank and the WebRoot Warning popup appeared in the upper left corner of the browser window. Choosing CLOSE of course left me without the download, which I suppose is the correct thing until their site is declared clean. By the way, attempts to start other programs, open the start menu, use any context menus were blocked... the context menus would flash up briefly and then disappear.  But the links within the browser page still worked! Hello   After the transition to v 8.0.4.46 something happend with Webroot impact at CPU and RAM durrign scan.   Pentium 4 and 2 GB RAM Before: about max 15-20% CPU, 10-15 MB, normal scan time about 1 min 30 sek - max 2 min Now - about 30-50 % CPU, 45-55 MB, scan time about 3 min.   What happend here?

Hello Everyone, I'm new to the community and have a question regarding virus infections and anti virus software.  I had AVG as my anti-virus and during a scan it found that there were over 40 infections so I purchased secure everywhere and it ran a scan and found no infections whatsoever.  Is there some difference between the two systems that one dectects objects as an infection while the other doesn't? Why such a dicrepancy?  I have to say I'm a little confused.  Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks   Joe    

HELLO   I encountered a problem with the pop-up warning (left upper corner) about malicious content in the latest Firefox (attempt to open www.interia.pl) but the lack of this warning in the same situation in Chrome. Whether webroot has a communication problem with Firefox ?   Kind Regards
