Cool links @, thanks for posting. That guy is pretty amazing. He reminds me of the singer from Alt-J a little (or vice-versa).

I listen to all types of music but lean toward indie-rock.

"Augustines", formerly known as "We are Augustines" are an indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York. They have two albums out and are known for their epic live shows. This is the first song I ever heard from them, from their first album, and it's still one of my favorites. I absolutely love the bridge in this song (at 2:30).

Hope everyone's having a great day/evening. :)

I like most types of music, it just depends on what mood I am in at the time but tend to go towards folk music or smooth Jazz, nothing is out of bounds though.

Seeing how it's St. Patty's Day, a little jam from the one of my favorite Irish bands.

Very much into Reg Meuross at the moment; someone that we 'discovered' and number of years ago but lost track of and rediscovered recently.

A balladier of the old school and if one had to categorise his work I would call it 'Folk'...but more than that it is really storytelling to music, as both lyrics are deep and the tunes are superby IMHO very musical.

If interested here is a sample of his work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7Dud_GJSEs

Enjoy!

And the nice thing is, Jasper, that he is relatively local...coming from the South West (we saw him again last weekend at the Folk Rooms in Bristol...a memorable and intimate evening) so the chances are he may play a small venue near you at some stage.

He is on the rounds at the moment ; you can check out his itinerary here...http://www.regmeuross.com/

Regards, Baldrick

No worries, Jasper...perhaps if he comes to a venue midway between you and I we could meet up and go see him together...as you say these small venues are the best for this sort of music...the atmosphere, etc. :D

Hi Friends,

? mentioned that he's going to see Pentatonix tonight, an acapella band. Made me think of this. One of my favorite acapella versions of a song. Hard to believe this is all done with only their voices. Very cool.

This is a cover of the Yazoo hit by an accapella group in the UK. as far as I know the group still exists but the line up has changed considerably.

After revisiting Antus67's funny but true post "What a difference 50 years makes" it made me think of this song by the band Solar Circus.
I played drums in a local band about 20 years ago and we covered this song. It was definitely a crowd pleaser. :D

Hi Friends,

Happy Hallowen!

Have a listen to this club favorite from Chicago natives, Ministry. Man, does this song remind me of High School. :D

I don't think Led Zeppelin recorded it. Someone just did a mash-up of Zeppelin and Christmas songs. I really like it, though. Pretty clever, whoever did it. ;)
